Enjoy Free Music, Theatre, and Dance in Brisbane with Festival 2018

Festival 2018 extends from the Gold Coast to Brisbane this April, bringing live music, theatre, circus, dance and more to the famous Queensland city. This fantastic program celebrating arts and culture is free to attend for all, and will feature some of the hottest names in music, well-renowned dance and theatre groups, as well as a number of other exclusive performances and family-friendly entertainment.

Festival 2018 is in accordance with the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, one of the most prestigious sporting events to take place in Australia this year. Festival 2018 will run from April 4 to April 15, the full 12-day duration of the Commonwealth Games, and will offer a fantastic atmosphere of celebration and adoration for the huge sporting event.

South Bank will feature two big stages for Festival 2018 with performances from Kev Carmody, Heart Music, Regurgitator, Cheap Fakes, DJ Ben Ely, Haiku Hands, Urthboy, Mihirangi, Electric Fields, The Verandah ChiX, Mau Power, Dave Orr Band, Sabrina Laurie and The Hunting Party, Abbe May, Tales and Ales, BANFF, Golden Vessel, Airling, Blak Friday, Mission Songs Project, Coloured Stone, Skinnyfish Sound Sydtem, Morning Harvey, The Creases, Stella Donnelly, Alex the Astronaut, The Preatures, Jeremy Neale, and Bob Evans.

Also not to miss throughout Festival 2018 in Brisbane are a number of dance and theatre shows including the Male Kiai Mura Buai Dance Company, The Owl and the Pussycat, The Village, Nunukul Yuggera Aboriginal Dancers, Yalu Dad, Revolve, Katina Olsen, and more. Comedians to catch are Diat Alferink, Sean Choolburra, and an exclusive ’50 Shades of Black’ comedy show. Festival 2018 will also host the WOW: Women of the World Festival, BNE DESIGN open-air market, and the Moving Words workshop.
